The short version

  • ANZ business loans run from 6 months to 5 years, at a fixed rate, a floating rate or a mix of both.
  • Through goBiz you can apply online for up to $250,000 unsecured or $500,000 secured, including anything you already owe ANZ.
  • goBiz is for businesses that have operated for at least 2 years and use MYOB or Xero. Other businesses apply by phone.
  • The floating rate is a base rate plus a margin ANZ sets for your business.

Is an ANZ business loan right for your business?

An ANZ loan suits an established business that uses MYOB or Xero and wants a longer term at a bank rate. If your business is less than 2 years old, you can still apply by phone. ANZ says it lends to start-ups for set-up costs like equipment or technology.

Who can apply online

To use goBiz, you must be an NZ citizen or permanent resident and a key financial decision-maker for the business. Your business must have operated for at least 2 years and have an active MYOB or Xero account. goBiz pulls the last two financial years from your accounting software, and an ANZ banker calls within five working days. If you don't meet these criteria, call ANZ on 0800 269 249.

ANZ business loan rates

ANZ's floating rate is its base rate plus a margin it sets for your business, so the base rate on its website isn't the rate you'll pay. For fixed rates, you'll need to call ANZ. On a floating loan you can make lump sum payments at any time for no fee. If you change a fixed loan during the fixed period, you may have to pay an early repayment recovery, also called a break fee. The business loan calculator shows the repayments at any rate.

How ANZ compares

BNZ's QuickBiz takes sole traders as well as companies, for $5,000 to $100,000 with 12 months of accounts. Kiwibank's Fast Capital gives a decision in minutes but only lends to limited companies. Online lenders like Prospa decide quickly and don't need 2 years of trading, but they usually cost more.

These details come from ANZ's New Zealand website, checked on 6 November 2026.

Common questions

What is ANZ's business loan interest rate?

ANZ publishes a floating base rate and adds a margin for each business. It quotes fixed rates by phone. The rate you get depends on your business, the security you offer and the loan term.
