Skipper shows the real cost of a small business loan in New Zealand by turning factor rates, fees and terms into a true annual rate you can compare.
What you'll find here
The true cost calculator works out the annual rate you'll pay from your loan amount, the factor rate or fees and the loan term. Each lender has a page explaining how it sets prices and what a typical loan costs. Our guides explain the different types of business finance and what to check before you take out a loan.
How Skipper is paid for
Skipper is free to use. If you want to find a lender, we share your details with a partner lender. If they fund your loan, the lender pays us a commission. You don't pay any extra fees, and your rate stays the same. We show the true cost for every lender, even those who pay us, and the calculator works the same for all of them.
What Skipper can't do
Skipper only gives general information. We don't offer financial advice or lend money, and we can't tell you if a specific loan is right for your business.
Who runs it
Jason Dark is a software engineer in Auckland who runs Skipper. He builds the calculators and works out the true cost of each lender's loans, so small business owners can see exactly what they'll pay before they sign.
